DECISION: NeXuS Sovereignty definition + consensus/economy direction (2026-07-23 14:37)

Status: ✅ DECIDED (definition + direction) · candidate scoring = next

What: Foundational decision record replacing DivaChain. Defines Sovereignty as 8 tests, rejects global-consensus blockchains, sets the async/local-first + RGB direction, and captures the economy + creator models.

Why: DivaChain moving too slow / may never ship. DIVA abandoned BFT for proof-of-storage because BFT failed over I2P (latency broke synchronous consensus) — real evidence that global consensus is incompatible with the anonymizing transport.

How / the decision: - SOVEREIGNTY = 8 tests (self-hosted, no-authority, self-sovereign-identity, non-custodial-value, LATENCY/PARTITION-tolerant, offline/mesh, anonymous, trustless-lightweight). - REJECTED: all synchronous global consensus — PBFT, CometBFT/Tendermint (my earlier rec, retracted), Mina-the-network (public clearnet PoS), global smart-contract VMs. - DIRECTION: agent-centric / async / local-first — personal chains + gossip + async settlement, consensus only at the double-spend boundary. - SMART CONTRACTS = client-side validation (RGB standout, also gives BTC interop; + Holochain / zk / state channels); most logic = HTLC+multisig+timelocks. - ECONOMY: NeXiuM = accounting/claim; Monero = private settlement rail; transaction FEES = the reward-backing reserve (fixes death spiral); multi-coin via atomic swaps (non-custodial); value store = non-custodial VAULT not a bank. - CREATOR FLAGSHIP (validates RGB — Ethereum NFT royalties failed as optional courtesy; RGB bakes royalty into asset VALIDITY): (a) perpetual royalties on sold works; (b) ABI Ads-Built-In — free content, creator paid by private (Brave/BAT) ads baked into the artifact, piracy->marketing. ABI needs an adopted NeXuS-native player + proof-of-impression (Gleipnir cousin). Both need a private ad network (new component to scope).
